Easter Jolly 2008 - arrangements

Blencathra Centre, Threlkeld, Keswick

Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March 2008 (The Easter Weekend)

34 places available on a first-come first-served basis.

Format is aimed as a training weekend for all the family, based on the success of previous Jolly’s, this usually comprises of a long run on the first day and a shorter run /cycle on the second day. Evening activities will be planned (aimed at younger ones). Catering is to be provided as a group activity.

The Blencathra Centre is ideally positioned for direct fell access and it is intended to make the most of this for exploration of the less popular and less well known Northern Fells.

The weather is always a factor on outdoor weekends, but going by previous Jolly’s we have a good track record for descent weather (last year we had a heat-wave!), but please do be prepared for Lakeland weather.

Bringing along bikes is a good idea too, as there is great scope for off-road cycling in the Northern Fells, or just a gentle ride down the old railway into Keswick (4 miles).

Please speak to / email Alex Pilkington for more details. (I will send out more details nearer the time, cost will be about 12 per night + food costs)
